Welcome!
At the very core of who we are and what we aim for as the fruit of our ministry, is Luke 24:32, "did not our hearts burn within us as He spoke to us." This is the verse from which Hearts-a-Blaze got its name. Amanda and I have vowed before the Lord and each other, to never settle for lukewarm hearts. By the grace of God we will contend all the days of our lives through prayer, fasting and the study of God's Word to be found with tender hearts full of passion for Jesus. As we interact and shepherd young adults, we aim for the same impact in them. We constantly remind our flock and ourselves that we do not sing songs, pray prayers and read verses for the simple fact of doing it. The reason we read God's Word is not to get through the study or through our reading ten chapters a day. The reason we sing, pray, and study is to encounter God. When we approach these disciplines with this goal, we save ourselves from religious pride and gain a heart that burns. We were made for this. Our highest calling as the human race is to love God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength.
